Workshops

My next workshop will take place 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM on October 21, 2006 and will be entitled "Shooting Grandma." The topic will be portraiture of the elderly.

My workshops emphasize often overlooked aspects of photography but also cover basic technical skills. However, those who have mastered basic technical skills, but still find their work to be one level below where they want to be, will find my workshops particularly useful.

Photographers of any skill level are welcome. Most participants tend to be hobbyists or semi professionals.

Workshops are usually conducted out of doors. We spend some time discussing the subject and possible ideas. The group is usually involved in the discussion. Many participants are eager to share their ideas and gain feedback from me and the other members. After the discussion, we shoot the subject, and I use this opportunity to mentor participants individually.

Afterwards, and this is perhaps the most important part of the workshop, we proceed to have the photos printed and evaluate the frames, usually at Bo's Coffee in the Ayala Entertainment Center.

The participation fee is 750 pesos. This does not include what you will spend on lunch, film, batteries, developing or printing. Budget at least 100 pesos for printing costs. Please book early as I limit participation to a manageable number. Anyone is welcome. You need to be aged 18 or above, and bring a camera (any kind of camera will do).

If possible, please try to read my essays before the workshop date.
